Moominvalley Park is a theme park that takes you through the world of Moomin, making great use of the beautiful nature in Hanno. This is the first Moomin park outside of Finland, the home country of the series’ original author.

The park is divided into 4 areas: “Welcome Cove,” “Moominvalley,” “Kokemus,” and “Lonely Mountain.” There are also experience facilities, cafés, shops, and exhibitions dotted about.
All of the facilities are packed with clever ideas and devices that can not only be enjoyed by Moomin fans, but also by those who don’t know the story in detail. The diorama in Kokemus is a must-see, standing over 8 meters tall. Be sure to also take a look at the performances, which change every 15 minutes!

The park’s site covers about 70,000㎡, so don’t forget to stop for a break at one of the restaurants or cafés as you walk around! Be sure not to miss the photogenic dishes with their storybook motifs.

There are many Moomin-related goods available at the park’s shop, including lots of original items that can’t be found anywhere else! Stop by and pick up some commemorative items before you go home.

Guests can also enjoy an immersive experience with the free smartphone-based “Moominvalley Audio Guide: An Adventure Walk with Moomintroll”, which uses Sony’s Sound AR™ technology, Locatone™. As you explore the park, Moomintroll and friends guide you through the story-rich landscape.
The exhibition facility Kokemus now features a new experience titled “The World of Moomin Art and Stories”, where visitors can journey through 12 different locations, discovering the imaginative world of Moomin creator Tove Jansson.
The audio guide is available in Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean, making it easy for international guests to enjoy their adventure, too.

There are lots of fairy tale picture books on the second floor of the wooden building in the forest. It's a great place to bring kids. It really feels like being in Finland.
