KAWABA BEER
Craft beer derived from the purest spring waters of Mt. Hotaka, a beloved symbol of Kawaba Village in Gunma.
KAWABA BEER, the craft beer made with painstaking care from the fresh, clear waters of Kawaba Village in Gunma, produced by Denen Plaza Kawaba Co., Ltd. at the Kawaba Denen Plaza reststop. It’s German-based flavor profile is known for its aromatic fruitiness, developed from a yeast mash.
There are 4 beers in the line. The draft beers include the “Weizen”, with a fruit aroma and low bitterness, “Kawaba Ale”, with its sweet, caramel-like malt aroma and medium hoppiness, as well as the “Yuki Hotaka Pilsner”, made with a blend of Kawaba-made Koshihikari/Yuki Hotaka rice grain. The IPA, available by the bottle, features a bright citrus profile and bloom of bitter flavor. Every Kawaba Beer is made with an emphasis on rich taste, fragrance, and clean after taste, so that its easy to drink for all beer enthusiasts, men and women, regardless of age.
The brewery is also home to a restaurant, making it a popular stopover for a freshly brewed craft beer. The nearby farmer’s market on the grounds of the Kawaba Den-en Plaza sells all four varieties in bottles, perfect as a take home souvenir.
