The Koma River is a clear stream that flows through the western part of Hidaka City, Saitama Prefecture. Surrounded by this river, the flatland that has been shaped like a skirt over a long period of time is called "kinchakuda".
You can see many flowers such as rape blossoms in spring, hydrangeas in summer, and cosmos in autumn.
Kinchakuda is famous for its Manjushage, which blooms in autumn, and when 5 million Manjushage trees are in full bloom, the whole site becomes like a bright red carpet. There are many places in Japan where these flowers bloom, but it is rare to see them in a wooded area like Kinchakuda, and the fantastic atmosphere attracts many tourists every year.
You can also enjoy hiking, playing in the river, barbecues, etc. The Aiaibashi Bridge in the lower reaches of the Kora River offers a magnificent view. You can see the shape of the pouch from nearby Mount Hiwadayama, which is where the name comes from, so it's a good idea to go there.
