Oya History Museum
It is a spot where a fantastic world is spread and used for shooting many movies and dramas, as well.
Oya stone was mined from the area near Oyamachi, Utsunomiya City, Tochigi Prefecture, and was also used as a building material for the former Imperial Hotel. The "Oya Museum" is the one that passes on the history of mining. Materials such as tools from the hand-drilling era and changes in mechanization and transportation methods are displayed in the museum.
The site of the underground stope remains as a huge space with an area of about 20,000 square meters, an average of 30 meters underground, and a depth of 60 meters. Besides being lit up, artworks are exhibited, and projection mapping is also held.
You can enjoy a fantastic world with many actual shootings such as movies, dramas, and music videos. In addition, it is also used as a concert hall and wedding hall.
Fashionable cafes and craft shops are also provided on the Oya Museum premises, and should definitely be enjoyed after the tour by all means.
