Yoro Park sits at the foot of Mt. Yoro in the southwest of Gifu Prefecture, Nishimino Region. The vast premises have the Site of Reversible Destiny, Kodomo-no-kuni (kids’ land), and various leisure facilities. The park’s main spot, Yoro Waterfall, is at the innermost corner.

30m-tall and 4m-wide Yoro Waterfall is selected as one of Japan’s 100 great waterfalls. The gushing water against rocks is pure and so beautiful that Katsushika Hokusai painted the magnificence in ukiyo-e in the Edo Period. The Yoro good son story is associated with this fall that a good son put the water from this fall when it turned into wine and gave it to his sick father and he recovered.

From the parking lot closest to the fall, it is about a 30-min walk. On route, there is a trail along with seven bridges where you can enjoy fresh greens, spring cherry blossoms, autumn foliage, etc. in your hiking. Take time to visit Kikusui Spring, one of 100 great springs, Yoro Shrine and sites associated with the good son story around the waterfall.
