Established in 1888, Asaya Hotel is the oldest hotel in Kinugawa Onsen, one of the most famous hot spring resorts in the Kanto region. The hotel has created a luxurious space with a sense of tradition such as the atrium entrance lobby with a pipe organ. Among various bath facilities, the best attraction is the sky garden open-air bath (kuchu-teien bath) on the 13th floor, the highest bath in the Kinugawa Onsen town. Guests can have an extraordinary bathing experience in which water is supplied from their own hot spring source, while absorbing a stunning view of the mountain and townscape underneath. Also, the large indoor bath halls are prepared two each both for men and women. All guestrooms use hot spring water, and even some of them feature with a wide view bath or an outside bath on the balcony. The guest rooms are spread among two buildings; Hachiban-kan and shuho-kan. Each building offers a variety of peaceful rooms in different styles. Examples are rooms decorated with Kanuma-kumiko, a traditional Tochigi woodcraft, rooms with an open-air bath, and Japanese-style rooms with a view of the valley. Guests can choose either an exquisite buffet style meal which includes 100 items for dinner and 60 items for breakfast or a kaiseki style meal.
