Nishikigawa Seiryu Line & Tokotoko Train

Enjoy the nature in Iwakuni’s local train.

Last update :

Nishikigawa Seiryu Line is a 38,3km-long railway running between Iwakuni City’s Iwakuni Station and Nishikicho Station. The cars are designed for the theme “Natural Scenes along the Clear Stream.”
The train cars are wrapped in four different pastel colors that represent four seasons in Japan: "Cherry pink", "Forest green", "Firefly yellow" and "Clear stream blue".

Almost the entire railroad runs along the national highway Route 187 and Nishiki River which has Kintaikyo Bridge. Seiryu Waterfall, subsiding bridges are along the way. The train windows are made bigger so you can see the scenery better. Enjoy beauty in four seasons such as cherry blossoms and canola flowers in spring and fish swimming in the stream in summer.

From the terminal, Nishikicho Station, a tour trolley, Tokotoko Train, runs mainly on Saturday, Sunday and holidays except for winter (December - February). It goes on a road, which was originally for a railroad, through Kirara Yume Tunnel lit with fluorescent rocks in the image of the Milky Way. After passing the fantastical tunnel, the trolley reaches the last station, Sozukyo Onsen Station in 40 minutes. Here, you can have a day trip to a hot spring or stay overnight.
