Kuju Flower Park
The vast blooming space with 5 million flowers in 500 species throughout the year on the 220,000m² ground.
Kuju Mountain Range and the Five Peaks of Aso surround this park on Kuju Highland in Aso-Kuju National Park. Taste the fresh air and enjoy the vibrant flowers in each season.
The premises are enormous 220,000m², featuring multiple hills covered with flower carpets, a rose garden, Kuju Garden that reminds you of a British garden, the green house Antil where you can enjoy a variety of flowers on any rainy day. At a leisurely pace, it takes about two hours to go around the park. After seeing stunning flowers, you can stop by at any of the 14 restaurants or shops for specialty gelato with local ingredients, meals or shopping. From April to May when the greatest variety of flowers bloom each year, special events are planned featuring flowers in season. Other activities are offered in different seasons such as picking blueberries.
Another highlight of Kuju Highland with the clean air is the marvelous starry sky. On every 2nd Saturday of the month, Kuju HIghland Starry Sky Tour, a star-gazing event, is offered. If you stay at the Camping Resort Flowers and Stars, it is nice and easy even for a camping beginner and you can enjoy the grand star-filled sky at night.
