Founded in the mid-Edo period by a former Shinto priest, Ryokan Adumaya is an established inn located near the Kumano Hongu of the World Heritage Kumano Kodo. The charming, purely Japanese-style building includes four special rooms such as "Maki" and "Osugi," each with an attached bath, and all guest rooms are spacious Japanese-style rooms.

The hot spring is the oldest in Japan, "Yunomine Onsen," known for its delightful scent of cypress in the "Shinfuro" large bath and an open-air bath designed by a professor specializing in Japanese gardens. A highlight is the "Yunomine Mushi-buro," a rare steam bath in Japan using the high-temperature steam of Yunomine Onsen, which is effective for throat pain when inhaled directly.

The cuisine, incorporating hot spring water, is another pride of the ryokan. The "Mikumano Beef Shabu-Shabu," featuring locally exclusive Mikumano beef served in hot spring water, is a must-try delicacy. Additionally, breakfast includes special hot spring porridge and hot spring tofu, allowing guests to enjoy the hot spring in their meals as well.
