Tokachigawa Onsen

Tokachigawa Onsen is located in the Tokachi Plain in the center of Hokkaido. The "Moor hot springs" are rare in Japan, and rich in organic plant matter. As a result, the hot water has a high temperature of 55-60 degrees Celsius and gushes out from a location 500-700 meters underground. Moor hot springs are rare in the world as plant-derived hot springs, and it was designated as a Hokkaido Heritage Site in 2004.

The spring's sodium chloride and bicarbonate salt spring water has a variety of therapeutic properties, including relief from neuralgia and joint pain. Hotels and tourist attractions are concentrated in the area, making it a popular destination for many visitors during the season.

Visitors can enjoy the magnificent nature of Hokkaido in the surrounding area, such as fields of sunflowers and rows of white birch trees, and if the weather is nice in summer, they can look out over the mountains in the distance.
