Tsukui Lake
Serene landscapes in this nature-rich, leisure area surrounding a man-made lake.
Tsukui Lake is a man-made lake made by a dam in the northwestern part of Kanagawa Prefecture.
The lake was completed along with Shiroyama Dam in 1965, after the building of Sagami Dam as a part of a project to secure a stable water source for the growing community. Nearby you’ll find the expansive grounds of Tsukuiko Shiroyama Park, or the famous mountain-top cherryblossom-viewing spots around the Tsukui Castle Ruins from the Warring States Period.
In addition to serving as a precious water source for the local community, the area also serves as a rich nature escape to enjoy.
