The 315m-tall Mt. Satsuki is Ikeda City's symbol. Ina River runs along the foot of the mountain and has a nice driveway leading to the Satsukiyama Park on this mountain, which is a familiar oasis with leisure facilities to Ikeda’s residents.

Mt. Satsuki is well-known as a prominent cherry blossom spot in Hokusetsu Area. Early April is the peak season when Mt. Satsuki Cherry Festival is held. Azalea in spring and fall foliage attract many tourists. Use the hiking course and enjoy nature in different seasons.

The park has a vast lawn and large play structures popular among children, an observation deck with a view over Osaka Plain, etc. Satsukiyama Zoo has a petting and feeding zoo with sheep and rabbits. This is also Japan’s premier wombat breeding ground. You will get to see alpacas and emus. Satsukiyama Botanical Garden has the beloved greenhouse with tropical and rare plants. Both are free to enjoy.
