The popular spot nicknamed "Hanabito Kaido" (Flower People Highway) stretches from Asahikawa City through Biei Town and Furano City to Shikaoi Village along National Route 237, which is lined with numerous flower fields taking advantage of the vast landscape. Kanno Farm is located along National Route 237 and is a free-entry tourist farm where you can enjoy seasonal flowers.
From mid-June to mid-October, during the farm's open season, over 30 types of flowers bloom, including salvia, cleome, and kochia. Among them, lavender, which has several early and late-blooming varieties, is especially popular. Due to differences in elevation, the lavender at the farm reaches its peak blooming period slightly later than in Furano City. From early July every year, the gentle slopes turn purple, and with the right weather conditions, you can enjoy the vibrant colors and rich fragrance until early August.
The on-site shop sells original products, including lavender items such as potpourri and dried flowers. The food menu is also extensive, featuring farm-harvested potatoes, white corn, and farm-fresh soft-serve ice cream.
