Nihondaira Yume Terrace
An observation point set at the summit of Nihondaira—one of Japan’s most scenic viewpoints.
Located atop Nihondaira—a 307-meter-high hill in Shizuoka City that once ranked No.1 in the “Japan Tourist Destination 100 Contest”—Nihondaira Yume Terrace is a scenic observation and lookout point that opened in 2018. Make your way here for views of Mt. Fuji, Suruga Bay, and Miho no Matsubara that are all worth the travel, plus multiple vantage points across its beautifully designed spaces.
The facility features an indoor exhibition area on the first floor that highlights the history and surrounding attractions of Nihondaira. On the second floor, a cozy lounge offers visitors the chance to enjoy local tea and sweets while taking in the view. At the third floor you’ll find a full-circle observation deck, complete with panoramic windows and a glimpse of sweeping views in all directions. Even on days when Mt. Fuji is obscured by clouds, a large monitor displays real-time visuals of the mountain, ensuring no one misses out.
Step outside to the rooftop observation corridor, a spot open all day with unbeatable 360-degree panoramic views. This outdoor deck is also a popular night view spot, perfect for watching the city lights glitter after sunset.
