Located in the Okuhamanako region, Ryugashido Cavern was formed in rock layers approximately 250 million years old. It is one of the largest limestone caves in the Tokai region, with a total length of about 1,000 meters, 400 meters of which are open to the public.

The Cavern is a mysterious space filled with stalactites, formed over many years, and can be described as natural art. Highlights include the "Golden Great Waterfall" with a 30-meter drop and the "Phoenix Hall," where chandelier-like stalactites spread across the ceiling. The Cavern’s internal temperature remains at an average of 18°C throughout the year, providing a cool escape in summer and warmth in winter, making it a comfortable exploration experience in any season.

The Cavern complex includes a museum that offers detailed dioramas and information about the Cavern, and a gelato shop that has been chosen as the best by bus guides in Shizuoka Prefecture.
