A Japanese restaurant in Izu Kogen where you can enjoy fresh local fish caught in fixed nets off the Izu coast. The open, high-ceilinged traditional building uses local Amagi Mountain wood for its beams and tables, creating a warm space where you can relax and enjoy your meal.

For rice bowls, you’ll find favorites like the “Kaisen Daimyo Don,” boldly topped with eight kinds of seafood—so much it practically hides the rice—as well as the popular “Ishiyaki Don,” served piping hot in a bibimbap stone pot with toppings like kinmedai (splendid alfonsino) and sakura shrimp. It’s a creative dish with a fun way to eat: start with the house sauce, then add wasabi for a flavor change, and finish with ochazuke (tea over rice). There’s also an extensive lineup of set meals where you can choose mains like grilled fish, simmered fish, sashimi, fried dishes, or miso-grilled pork—each one hearty and satisfying.

Of course, you can also try Izu’s classic simmered kinmedai. The menu also includes plenty of noodles and small plates that pair well with local sake, such as stone-milled soba, summer-only kinmedai somen, and winter-only Inaniwa udon.
