With its main shop in Uji, this veteran tea merchant boasts a history of some 170 years since its founding in 1854 (Ansei 1). Swing by to the cozy café attached to the shop for your choice of tasty sweets including parfaits, zenzai and more. The most popular item on the menu is Namacha jelly, available to takeaway so you can enjoy all the store goodness from the comforts of home.

Bite in for a mouthful of dreamy tea flavor, color and aroma without tasting extra sweet. There are two varieties available year-round: "Matcha”, which features a delicate aroma and rich flavor unique to matcha, topped with sweet red bean paste; and "Hojicha," which offers a refreshing taste and roasted aroma, reminiscent of drinking actual hojicha tea.

Check the online shop to find the same jellies sold as individual bites or pick and choose to build assorted sets. In-person sales at the store are available for orders as small as one pot.
