Michi-no-Eki Hitachiota Komon-no-Sato
A designated “Priority Roadside Station” highlighting all the best of Hitachiota.
Opened in July 2016, this roadside station has been selected by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism as a designated “Priority Roadside Station”, serving as a new base for promoting the appeal of Hitachiota.
The direct sales market offers fresh vegetables and processed goods throughout the year, showcasing the agricultural richness of Hitachiota. Break-up your next road trip with a stop to browse around local specialties like Hitachi Seiryu, an all-original grape variety grown only in the city, or Imazuri rice, cultivated in the fertile local fields.
Dining options are plentiful. At Restaurant ShunSai, the recommended dish is cutlet curry made with Buna Pork. Menus here highlight local ingredients, including vegetables also supplied to the direct sales market. The food court further features Hitachi Aki Soba, a regional buckwheat noodle, and Satomi Gelato made with fresh milk from the dairy-rich Satomi district.
For families, the outdoor area is equipped with large-scale playground equipment and four moving rides, making this roadside station not only a spot for shopping and dining, but also a fun destination for children.
