Supervised by :  Suntory Hakushu Distillery

Completed in 1973, this is Suntory’s authentic malt whisky distillery. Thanks to natural underground water from the Southern Alps flowing through its vast Approx. 820,000 m² site, a wide variety of whisky new make spirits are produced here.

The distillery marked its 50th anniversary in 2023 and completed the first phase of renovations. New facilities, including the entrance Visitor Center and the Tasting Lounge in the Central House, welcome guests.

To enter the Whisky Museum and the Central House, reservations are required via the official website or by phone. The Hakushu Distillery Manufacturing Tour is by lottery, and applications are accepted online only.

At the Whisky Museum, you can learn about the history of the single malt whisky “Hakushu” and whisky culture around the world. The distillery tour has been refreshed to let you experience the production floor atmosphere, including aromas and temperature, unique to the site. A must for whisky fans.

At the Central House Tasting Lounge, you can pay to compare whiskies, and there’s also an on-site gift shop. You’ll find great souvenirs as well as items to elevate your whisky life.
