Itadaki no Mori (The Summit Forest)

A stunning new scenic spot where you can easily immerse yourself in the magnificent nature of Oku-Hida.

Last update :

Located in Shinhotaka Onsen in the Okuhida Onsenkyo area of Takayama City, this ropeway offers a spectacular journey through the skies. From Shinhotaka Onsen Station to Nishihotakaguchi Station, visitors transfer between the First and Second Ropeways to enjoy a 3,200-meter ride with breathtaking alpine views.

Just steps from the upper terminal of the Second Ropeway, Nishihotakaguchi Station, lies Itadaki no Mori.

About 20 meters from the station is the Forest Terrace, surrounded by pristine old-growth forest at an elevation of over 2,000 meters. Here, you can sit on the wooden deck and unwind at a leisurely pace. Another 30 meters ahead is the Forest Counter, where you can sip a drink while watching the ropeway come and go and taking in views toward the Hakusan area.

One of the highlights is the Yari no Kairo (Yari Corridor), a boomerang-shaped deck that juts outward, bringing you face-to-face with the Yari-Hotaka mountain range. From an altitude of 2,000 meters, the sweeping panorama of the Northern Alps is simply awe-inspiring.

More attractions are set to open in the future, including the Oshirabiso no Michi (Oshirabiso Trail), a walking trail through primeval forest, and Nishiho no Odoriba, a photo spot designed to evoke the feeling of traversing rugged alpine ridgelines.
