Spanning 3.5 hectares atop Mt. Tento, the beautiful Flower Garden "Hana Tento" offers stunning views. Initially a ski resort in winter, this area has been transformed into a flower garden each summer since 2002, becoming a beloved relaxation spot for locals.
The garden is maintained through the “Adopt Program,” where the city provides seedlings and tools, and volunteers plant flowers and maintain the garden. Thanks to their efforts, approximately 25,000 salvia flowers bloom from early July to late September, creating a vibrant landscape with red, blue, white, and pink blossoms—ideal for capturing photogenic moments.
From the summit lodge, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the Shiretoko Mountain Range, the Sea of Okhotsk, and Lake Abashiri, making it a perfect place to rest and take in the majestic scenery.
