Kirin Distillery - FUJI GOTEMBA DISTILLERY

The Kirin Distillery sits proudly in a gorgeous setting with prime, front row views of Mt. Fuji. It’s remained a hub for crafting optimum whisky since 1973, banking on its natural environment blessed with cool air averaging around 13°C each year, frequent fog and pure spring waters from Mt. Fuji.

Renowned for being one of the few distilleries in the world that produces both malt and grain whisky, Kirin Fuji Gotemba Distillery handles every careful step from mashing to bottling. This rarity makes it a favorite among whisky enthusiasts. Distillery tours require advanced reservation, complete with a projection mapping experience in a 12-meter-long theater that reveals the many aspects that draw so many fans here. Tours include a backstage look at the actual stills and other equipment in use. Top off your tour with a tasting session at the end, featuring "Kirin Single Grain Japanese Whisky Fuji" and "Kirin Whisky Riku”.

For a more casual, drop-in visit check out the Distillery Shop, open to the general public for free without reservation. Swing by for a chance to shop exclusive whiskies and original merchandise. As an added perk, there’s even a "Paid Tasting Corner" on the second floor, where you can enjoy limited-edition whiskies.
