Founded in 1929, Beppu Rakutenchi is the oldest amusement park in Kyushu and a beloved spot filled with memories for generations of Beppu residents.

Inside the park, you’ll find a wide variety of attractions, including Japan’s only double-decker Ferris wheel, the Flower Ferris Wheel, a merry-go-round that brings a fairy tale world to life, and a roller coaster that races through the trees on a thrilling 470-meter course. After 20 years, the go-karts have also made a long-awaited return! There are plenty of rides for all ages, including attractions that even preschoolers can enjoy with a guardian. The Carnival Town area, featuring retro arcade games like air hockey, ensures fun for everyone, regardless of age.

In the Animal Zone, more than 20 species of small animals, including capybaras and penguins, are lovingly cared for. One of the park’s longtime signature attractions is the Duck Race, a hilarious event where eight ducks take off at the starting signal, and visitors can bet on which one will win. If you guess correctly, you’ll receive a special prize! The Animal Land area, where visitors can interact with rabbits, sheep, and chicks, is another popular highlight.

For those looking to relax, the park offers Zekkei no Yu, a day-use hot spring with breathtaking views, and a foot bath, both of which are free to use with an admission ticket. In the summer, the Onsen Spring Water Pool opens for a limited time, featuring water slides, water guns, and plenty of exciting surprises. For a more laid-back experience, visitors can also enjoy a barbecue area overlooking Beppu Bay (advance reservations required), making Beppu Rakutenchi a place where everyone can create unforgettable memories in their own way.
