Higashi-Hennazaki Cape
A breathtaking scenic spot that turns time spent here into a lifelong memory.
Located at the easternmost tip of Miyakojima, Higashi-Hennazaki Cape is a breathtaking scenic spot that leaves visitors truly moved. It has also been selected as one of Japan’s “Top 100 Urban Parks.”
From this long, narrow cape stretching Approx. 1.2 miles (2 km), the horizons of the Pacific Ocean and the East China Sea seem to go on forever, letting you feel refreshed by the sheer scale of nature. If you want to take in the views from a different angle, head to the lighthouse. Climb around 100 steps and you’ll be rewarded with a spectacular panorama. You can see even farther out over the sea, making it a time you won’t forget.
Around the well-maintained walking paths, you can see Tennobai, a prefectural natural monument, year-round—perfect for a relaxed stroll. In early spring, teppo lilies bloom in abundance, so you can enjoy even more beautiful scenery.
Visiting around sunrise is also recommended. The scenery is said to be especially mysterious, and it’s very popular with travelers. Why not start your day here with this majestic view?
