Sun Messe Nichinan
A mystical spot with seven Moai statues standing against the backdrop of Miyazaki's blue sea.
Located on a small hill overlooking the Nichinan Coast, this popular tourist attraction features the impressive Ahu Akivi. It is the first ever complete replica of the Moai statues, authorized by the Elders of Easter Island. With the blue sea as a backdrop, the seven pairs of Moai statues evoke a sense of historical romance and mystery.
Among the various Moai statues are the Love Moai, known for deepening the love between couples, and the Breakup Moai, which is said to sever bad connections. The park is also home to many photo spots, including the Viewer, a colorful monument of figures, and swings facing the sea.
Near the entrance, there's a Welcome Plaza with shops and cafes, and further up the hill near the Sky Tower is the Center Plaza, which includes a restaurant and an insect exhibition hall. Visitors can relax at these spots. The park is vast with many slopes, so visitors can use the rental Round Cars (for a fee) available at the Welcome Plaza to explore the area.
