Supervised by :  高雄 錦水亭

A long-established traditional Japanese inn nestled in the nature-rich ravine of Takao, Kyoto. Enjoy relaxing meals and hot springs while taking in the murmuring Kiyotaki River and scenery that changes with the seasons. In addition to overnight stay plans, day-use plans are also available for lunch or dinner on the kawadoko riverside platforms, with the summer kawadoko cuisine and autumn foliage season drawing especially large crowds.

The inn has an elegant, purely Japanese-style atmosphere, and guest rooms look out over the mountains of Takao and the flowing river. The cuisine features authentic Kyoto kaiseki made with seasonal ingredients, including ayu sweetfish and hamo conger eel in summer, and botan nabe wild boar hot pot in winter, letting guests indulge in seasonal flavors in style. In summer and autumn, special dining experiences are also offered at kawadoko riverside seats overlooking the clear stream, where guests can enjoy their meal with the sound of flowing water and a cool breeze. There is also a private bath for overnight guests, a welcome place to unwind in a private setting after a day of travel.

The surrounding area is known as the “Sanzan” area, one of the earliest places in Kyoto to enjoy autumn leaves, so visiting during the fall foliage season is also recommended.
