Known for Hokkaido’s signature sweet “Wakasaimo,” shaped like a baked sweet potato, this long-established confectionery maker also sells “Sapporo Poppo Manju” exclusively at Sapporo Station. “Oishii Manju” was created so that customers from farther away could enjoy this popular brown sugar manju as well, known for its delicious dough and served freshly steamed in-store.

The moist, springy dough, which feels pleasantly soft in the hand, is made with 100% Hokkaido wheat. Fragrant soy sauce and brown sugar are kneaded into it together, adding a subtle saltiness and layered richness that bring out its full savory flavor. The delicious, aromatic dough and the elegant sweetness of the smooth house-made red bean paste made with Hokkaido azuki beans melt together beautifully in the mouth, leaving a rich aftertaste.
