Kamiyubetsu Tulip Park
Approx. 700,000 colorful tulips bloom in full glory.
One of Japan’s largest tulip parks, it covers a total area of Approx. 125,000 square meters. Every year around May, colorful tulips bloom across a vast Approx. 70,000-square-meter field. Among the Approx. 700,000 tulips in about 200 varieties are everything from domestically grown flowers to rare varieties imported from the Netherlands, the home of tulips.
Inside the park are a large windmill-style observation deck and viewing points overlooking the tulip fields. If you ride the Chu-Pit sightseeing bus, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery while touring the park over Approx. 18 minutes. The grounds are also dotted with Dutch-themed photo spots, including a street organ from the Netherlands and a giant wooden shoe made by a Dutch clog craftsman.
There are also hands-on activities, such as a tulip digging experience where you can dig up and purchase your favorite tulips yourself. Every May, the Yubetsu Tulip Fair is held, attracting many visitors.
