Yamacho Valley

A multi-purpose commercial complex located in Yamachosuji/Yamacho, a historic district in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, where many traditional buildings remain. It opened in 2017 after a large merchant house built in the Meiji era was renovated.

Inside are eight tenants housed in traditional earthen storehouses, with a wide variety of shops including dining and retail.

In the courtyard stands a large tree that has remained since the days of the former merchant house, creating an open space that is also used for events and as a rental space. A concierge is also on hand inside the facility to provide tourist information and baggage storage. This makes it especially convenient for visitors carrying large bags or those who want to enjoy sightseeing in Takaoka at a relaxed pace.

The facility serves as a hub for sharing merchant-town culture, where local residents and tourists can connect and create a lively atmosphere. Be sure to also enjoy the distinctive view of five storehouses lined up, a scene unique to Yamacho Valley.
