Otera Kohachiro Shoten

A manufacturing wholesaler of Takaoka copperware made in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture. With roots in a foundry established in 1860, it carries on the traditional techniques of Takaoka copperware while offering a wide range of original products, custom-made items, and commemorative gifts.

In addition to its manufacturing and wholesale business, the shop also sells retail items. Located in a historic streetscape lined with row houses featuring senbon lattice facades and retaining the charm of the Edo period, it is also open as a cafe and gallery. Visitors can relax and enjoy a leisurely time while looking out over the garden.

Inside the shop, works by local artists and craftspeople are displayed and sold, and workshops are also held, including accessory-making experiences using soft tin and kintsugi classes led by a lacquer artisan. The tin accessory-making experience is especially popular with tourists, as visitors can create their own earrings, rings, and other items.
