Bashamichi Jubankan “Biscout”

A biscuit treat loved across generations, with the lingering charm of Japan’s early modern era.

Supervised by :  Yokohama Jubankan Co., Ltd.

Bashamichi Jubankan’s biscuit sandwich, created in 1970, has been loved for over half a century. The surface of each biscuit is stamped with a gas lamp, and the wrapper is printed with illustrations of a grand clock, a horse-drawn carriage, a phonograph, and more. Pick up a very Yokohama-style souvenir that evokes the refined “Haikara” culture with every bite.

Their signature item—cream sandwiched between thick biscuits—stands out for its rich flavor and crisp, crunchy texture. They carefully select high-purity premium flour and fresh, made-in-Japan butter, then artisans finish the dough by hand to bring out an elegant taste.

The cream comes in three varieties: “Lemon,” sprinkled with refreshing tartness from added fruit juice powder; “Chocolate,” gently bitter and smooth-melting; and “Peanut,” with the deep richness of fragrant peanuts.

Gift boxes are available in a range of sizes from 9 to 40 pieces, and the “Mini Biscout,” packed tightly with half-size Biscout in an original design tin, is also popular. As a sister product, “Biscout Pletot,” made with cocoa dough sandwiched with white chocolate, is also recommended.
