Last update :

Located within Nishikaigan Park on the west coast of Irabu Island, Cape Shiratori is not only a spot for breathtaking views but also one of the island’s premier diving locations, known for its fascinating underwater terrain featuring arches and caves.
The cape’s name, meaning “Swan Cape,” is said to come from the sight of the white waves breaking over the reef, resembling the outstretched wings of a swan. The reef lies close to the shore, making it a scenic and accessible destination.

From the parking area, a short walk past a small pavilion leads to a rocky area that opens up to a spectacular panoramic view. The dramatic waves crashing against the cliffs are a sight to behold-especially on windy days, when the surf becomes even more powerful. Visitors can also enjoy sweeping ocean vistas from the northernmost tip of the cape.

The stretch between Cape Shiratori and Funau-sagi Banata is part of Nishikaigan Park, where walking trails and rest areas have been developed-perfect for a leisurely seaside stroll surrounded by nature’s grandeur.
