Tonboike Park Spring Rose Fair

Located on gently rolling hills in the heart of Kishiwada City, Tonboike Park is a large, multi-purpose park covering approximately 62 hectares. The expansive grounds feature a wide variety of attractions, including a field athletic area with 45 different play structures, open lawn spaces, and flower gardens that showcase seasonal blooms throughout the year.

From late May to early June, spring roses reach their peak, and the park hosts its annual Spring Rose Fair over two days. Around 2,300 rose bushes representing some 200 varieties burst into bloom, filling the gardens with vivid colors and rich fragrances. In addition to traditional flowerbeds, roses climbing along Western-style arches and ropes add to the visual appeal.

During the event, visitors can enjoy hands-on workshops such as glass craft experiences and rose potpourri making. There are also lectures on how to grow roses, where participants can learn tips on pruning and pest control. Guided rose garden tours are another highlight, with park staff leading walks through the garden while pointing out notable features and varieties.
