The coral reef tank at Echizen Matsushima Aquarium is truly one-of-a-kind! The tank is completely transparent, so you can actually walk above the fish and watch them from above. This kind of tank is only found at Echizen Matsushima Aquarium in all of Japan!

You can see Mt. Mikasa in the distance, and the Ukimido Pavilion sits in the middle of Sagiike Pond. Whether you're viewing the pavilion and mountain from the lakeshore, or looking out from the pavilion itself, both views are absolutely beautiful and relaxing.

We stayed in a Japanese-style tatami room with comfy beds and an open-air bath. After soaking, we enjoyed an amazing kaiseki dinner and breakfast—everything was super delicious. You can relax in the bath and take in the view. Honestly, this stay was just fantastic.
