Osaka – Near-Perfect Foamy Ramen “Fukuryu Ramen Wadachi”
This time, I visited “Fukuryu Ramen Wadachi,” a restaurant that offers chicken broth-based ramen topped with a mousse-like foam made from nitrous oxide. “Foamy” ramen has been all the rage in Kansai lately, and I had to try it out!
Fukuryu Ramen Wadachi is a popular restaurant that always has a line!
Menu of “Fukuryu Ramen Wadachi”
All dishes are all-natural, with no chemical additives!
The Fukuryu ramen
The Fukuryu ramen (no soft-boiled egg) is 750 yen, with a huge helping of noodles at no extra cost!
The bowl looks a bit strange covered in the white foam. It almost looks like a cappuccino!
The foam covers the noodles, but it is topped with mizuna, green onions, and rare char siu!
The soup is primarily chicken broth, with a bit of tonkotsu and soy sauce.
The foam-topped soup has a very slight refreshing yuzu flavor. It goes down easy, but the chicken flavor is still prominent and delicious!
It is a creamy soup, but it goes very well with the medium-fine noodles!
The foam covers and contains the soup, so it stays hot until you’ve finished it!
Of course, the soup is tasty, but the char siu is delicious too!
Rare char siu, made with Andes pork, is mostly lean meat. It’s texture is similar to raw, and it’s really delicious!
Two extra slices of char siu topping is cheap at 130 yen. I definitely recommend it.
Beneath the crispy breading is incredibly juicy chicken!
At 250 yen for 3 pieces, the kara-age is a great deal!
The shop’s staff and service are also wonderful! It’s definitely a restaurant you’ll want to return to!
I recommend Fukuryu Ramen Wadachi to people who want to try flavors of ramen different than those offered in other stores!
