A Popular Shio-Ramen Restaurant in Osaka, “Ramen Uroko”
“Ramen Uroko” in Osaka is a popular stop for shio ramen!
They have 4 locations in Osaka Prefecture, and the same great flavors can be had at any of them. I will be introducing the location I visited in Nishinakajima.
The shop is clean and well-maintained, giving it a welcoming atmosphere, even for lone women.
First off, you buy your meal ticket.
The vending machine has “Our base product is shio ramen” written on it, so I’ll be going with the shio ramen since it’s my first time visiting!
This Is the Famous Shio Ramen!
Shio Ramen 750 yen
Fried Rice Set (Half-Portion) 250 yen
This great value set gets you some super-tasty fried rice for just 250 yen extra!
It’s topped with rare chashu, green onion, and daikon sprouts.
And, of course, plenty of the the newly popular tori-bushi!
Tori-bushi is chicken breast meat that has been steamed, roasted, dehydrated, and then cured. It’s packed with chicken umami!
The soup is a translucent gold. There’s some fat floating in it, but it’s not a very oily soup.
The tastes of the chicken and fish are light and flavorful, and it’s quite good!
Thanks to the inclusion of scallops and black pepper, the flavor has some depth.
The soup is already delicious as-is, but adding a bit of yuzu salt gives it a luxurious Japanese flavor, so I definitely recommend trying that!
The noodles are thick, flattened crinkle noodles.
They have a good chew to them, and the soup clings nicely to them!
They include 3 slices of thin rare chashu.
It’s moist and tender, but also packed with plenty of meaty umami.
The Fried Rice is Excellent Too!
The fried rice is fluffy, loosely packed, and well-made.
It’s packed with plenty of cubed chashu; yum!
There are a lot of people who are huge fans of this place’s fried rice!
There was a constant stream of customers coming all the way until closing.
Both the ramen and the fried rice were delicious! I’ll definitely be back!
