It is said that Mitsumine Jinja was founded as Yamatotakerunomikoto, a shrine to pray for the peace of the nation. Within the shrine grounds are large statues of Yamatotakerunomikoto, the mythological creators of Japan.

The wolf, considered the messenger of the gods of Mitsumine Shrine, is said to dispel various calamities. Its image, depicted on talismans and the like, is unique and attracts a lot of attention.

Within the shrine grounds, you can also find the “Enmusubi Tree”, where a fir and a cypress tree are closely intertwined, drawing many who pray for success in love. Other notable features include the unique 'Three Torii Gate' at the entrance of the shrine grounds, and the “Shigetada Cedar”, a sacred tree over 800 years old.

From the Okumiya Yohaiden, a distant worship hall, you can witness a sea of clouds depending on the weather, which also draws attention. The probability of seeing this sea of clouds is highest in November, making it a recommended time to visit.
