The Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter where the good old townscape of Kurashiki continues to this day. Hayashi Genjuro Shouten located within the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter is a multi-facility complex with a range of “affluent lifestyle” businesses related to “clothing, food and shelter”. The complex is lined with fashionable stores carrying items such as miscellaneous lifestyle goods with practicality and design combined, works made by craftsmen from all over Japan, denim suits and jewellery.

There is also a restaurant and a cozy café, where one can spend a laid back and luxurious time in Kurashiki.
In addition, there is a memorial room displaying historical items of “Hayashi Genjuro Shouten”, which was once a drug store with a 360-year long history.
From the rooftop observation terrace, one can see the vast townscape of Bikan district extending from Mount Tsurugata.
