Located on the Sea of Japan side of Tottori City in Tottori Prefecture, the Tottori Sand Dunes stretch 16 km from east to west and 2.4 km from north to south, making them one of the largest dune systems in Japan. These dunes, designated as a special protected area and a Natural Monument of Japan, are a major tourist attraction representing Tottori Prefecture.
Entering the Tottori Sand Dunes is free, but there are charges for activities. It is recommended to take a commemorative photo with a camel or actually ride one. (Chargeable)
In addition, you can enjoy activities such as paragliding and sandboarding, try local delicacies such as eggs cooked in the hot sand of the dunes, or pickled shallots grown in the fine sand.

風が作る砂紋の美しさ、空と砂丘とのコントラストも美しさも見どころです。SNS映えまちがいなしです！砂丘は広く、売店などもありませんので、水筒やペットボトルを持っていき、水分補給しながら散策するようご注意を。雪の季節も美しいそうなので、冬にも行ってみたいです。最後の写真は鳥取駅ちかくの「ゆきちや」という小料理屋で食べた料理です。新鮮なお刺身と美しく盛り付けられた小鉢がついたセットメニューでとても美味しかったです。
