The scenery around the lake is beautiful. Even though it was still pretty cold at the end of March, it was totally worth the trip.

  • The schedule for the day wasn't too packed, so I had plenty of time to visit other spots around Lake Kawaguchi.

Kawaguchi Lake is the most developed and lively of the Fuji Five Lakes. Lots of big local festivals and cultural events are held here.

  • Stayed in a room facing the lake. They say if you see Mount Fuji first thing in the morning, it's good luck.

  • I rented a bike nearby and rode around Lake Kawaguchi. The scenery along the way was just like a painting—absolutely stunning with the lake and mountains.
