Enjoy nutritious and flavorful yam dishes while gazing at the natural beauty of Hakone.

Last update :

This restaurant specializing in yam dishes is located in a place rich in nature, about a five-minute walk from Miyanoshita Station of the Hakone Tozan Railway. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes using the nutrient-rich Japanese Wild Yam, also known as the "the King of yams".

The menu mainly consists of set meals with grated yam, which is the main dish. There is the "Mugimeshi Tororo Set" for 2,079 yen, which includes grated yam, mugimeshi, a small bowl of side, and mushroom soup. Aside from that, the "Yamagusuri Tororo Set," for 2,280 yen, which includes one main dish (Either “Saikyo-yaki of Fuji spring pork” or “cured fish of seasonal Odawara origin”), with several small sides. The most popular dish, however, has a generous portion. It is the "Supreme Lunch Set" for 3,058 yen, which includes two main dishes, a small side, and Hakone's famous water, "Kumi-mametoyo”.

The wild yam used in these dishes are grown at a directly-managed Odawara Hakone Farm. The yams are carefully nurtured with rich-quality water from Hakone, and they are grated with whole skin so that the unique flavor can be enjoyed. Savor it to the fullest with golden barley rice (6 parts white rice to 4 parts domestic barley) and a generous amount of grated yam.

On the weekends and holidays, a breakfast set is available from 7:00 a.m. as well. You can choose between mugimeshi (barley rice) or Ginshari Mukago Kamameshi (fine white rice cooked slowly in a small pot for each person). It would be great to wake up early when staying at one of the nearby hotels or inns and enjoy the fresh air of Hakone while recharging your energy with wild yam dishes.
