Kakegawa Kachouen
A theme park where you can enjoy “interacting with birds and flowers.”
Kakegawa Kachouen is a hands-on theme park where you can enjoy interacting with birds in a garden filled with a diverse array of flowers. The large all-weather glasshouses are temperature and ventilation-controlled so that you can have a pleasant time in any weather or season. You can see 1,000 rare birds of about 100 species and flowers in full bloom all year round.
Most of the birds in the park are not in cages so that you can interact with them directly. For example, if you buy food at the “Bird Restaurant,” you can watch the birds eat from your own hands.
If you visit Kakegawa Kachouen, you cannot miss the powerful bird show featuring various birds such as owls and hawks (Harris Hawks). In addition, the commemorative photoshoot where you can take pictures with unique birds is also famous.
Another highlight of this park is that you can see beautiful flowers no matter what time of year you visit. The view of flowers in full bloom hanging from the ceiling of the greenhouse is exceptionally breathtaking. In the water lily pond, beautiful water lilies of various species are displayed and cultivated.
