The 40-story, twin super high-rise was completed in 1993. The two towers are connected on top. In England, it was selected into the “Top 20” list of world buildings as a thrilling skyscraper. The beauty of the building itself is part of its popularity. On the 3rd floor, there is a gate for the elevators to shoot you up to the 35th floor. From there, an escalator will carry you slowly to the 39 floors through a skeleton tunnel.
On the 39th floor, UMEDA SKYBLDG GALLERY SHOP has herbarium pens, craft kits, Umeda Sky Building figures created by Kaiyodo and other original goods. There is Sky Lounge, Stardust, which offers 300 kinds of cocktails and creative Italian dishes, and Chinese Restaurant Sangu that serves genuine Kanton dishes centered around seafood from a la carte to full course.
The 40th floor is an observatory. At the cafe SKY 40, you can enjoy Umeda Sky Building’s original coffee, Umeda Sky Bil Waffle in the Sky Building shape, the World Beer Selection, and other food and drinks.
The roof is Kuchu Teien Observatory 173m (568 ft) above the ground. You have a sweeping view of Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, Awaji Island, Mt. Rokko, Tempozan Ferris Wheel and the forest of skyscrapers in Umeda. Within the building, there are movie theaters and Takimi Koji that recreated a retro alley. On the premises, there are refreshing walking paths such as Chu-Shizen-no-mori and Hanano-Shin-Satoyama.
