YOKOHAMA AIR CABIN connects the Sakuragicho Terminal just in front of JR Sakuracho Station to the Canal Park Terminal in the Shinkou District. At a total length of 630 meters and 40 meters tall at its highest point, it takes only 5 minutes to get across one way.

The air cabin is Japan’s first ever state-of-the-art city ropeway loop line, complete with thirty-six 8-person cabins, air-conditioned interiors, fully equipped surveillance systems for safety, and cutting edge LED light displays. Enjoy a comfortable ride across the sky, no matter what the weather.

From the cabin window you’ll find a delightful view of Yokohama/Minatomirai streetscapes and famous spots, including the oversized Cosmo Clock 21 Ferris Wheel at Yokohama Cosmo World, Yokohama Grand Intercontinental Hotel and more. The route even crosses over Ooka River, a well-known spot for seeing the cherryblossoms, and sends you across the heights of Yokohama as it glitters in the night sky. For an extra treat, each gondola is equipped with a fully glass exterior so you can enjoy a 360-degree view of the Minatomirai skies as you ride.

Once you arrive at the Canal Park Terminal, you’ll find yourself just steps from easily accessible, hot destinations including the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, Yokohama Cosmo World, CUPNOODLES MUSEUM Yokohama and more. On your next visit to Yokohama, take to the skies for a cozy ride on the new ropeway.

Luckily, there weren't many people that day, so the views from above were really beautiful.

Riding the cable car over the city was pretty exciting!

Riding the cable car, you get a clear view of the entire Minato Mirai 21 area through the transparent cabin.

Last month, I was lucky enough to ride the world's most advanced urban cable car, the YOKOHAMA AIR CABIN! It's only five minutes in the air, but I was super excited the whole time. I kept thinking I have to bring my family here next time they visit from home. After the ride, don't rush back—take some time to explore the area. It's really peaceful and charming. The tracks in my photo are apparently remnants of an old railway that used to connect the docks for cargo.
