Kamikochi Imperial Hotel
In this mountain resort, which is also known as "the land where the gods descend," you can enjoy an elegant time surrounded by nature.
It opened in 1933 as Japan's first full-fledged mountain resort hotel. The red triangular roof and log cabin style exterior have not changed since then, and beyond the door, you can see the warmth of the wood around the mantelpiece, the symbol of the hotel. With a full range of restaurants and other facilities, you can enjoy an elegant stay in the embrace of nature.
There are 74 rooms in total, ranging from mountain lodge-style rooms with the slope of the roof used as the ceiling design to suites with living rooms making a total of 7 types of rooms. There are also rooms with verandas that offer a magnificent view of the Hotaka mountain range, so you can choose the one that best suits your needs and preferences.
There are three restaurants. In the main dining room, the French restaurant, you can enjoy a full-course meal that combines the traditional flavors of the Imperial Hotel with the colors of the seasonal ingredients of Shinshu. There is also a bar where you can enjoy the world's best drinks and cocktails in an atmosphere reminiscent of a Swiss mountain lodge, and a lobby lounge where afternoon tea and coffee brewed with spring water from Kamikochi are popular.
