The museum is located on Mt. Koshio, which Kenji Miyazawa often visited during his lifetime. It provides visitors with a variety of perspectives on Kenji, including his works, research, personality, and philosophy, as well as detailed information on his family, acquaintances, and surroundings.
The museum is largely divided into the Permanent Exhibition Hall, Special Exhibition Hall, Observation Lounge, and Kenji Salon.

The "Permanent Exhibition Hall" displays screen images and related materials in the five fields of science, art, space, agriculture, and prayer, with explanations and exhibits of the creative process that led to the works and the results of past research.

The "Special Exhibition Hall" is a space where visitors can learn more about Kenji's works, and the "Observation Lounge" is a relaxing space where visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of Hanamaki City.
In the "Kenji Salon," visitors can view a chronological table of Kenji and Hanamaki, as well as a video.
