Studio Sedic Shonai Open Set
An exterior backlot that is home to many films coming to life.
Located at the bottom of Mt. Gassan, this studio backlot is an open set that is open to the public, while still retaining its original look.
Over 88 hectare is a diverse film set including a fishing village, farming village, Inn towns, mountainous villages and more. Films including “Departures”, “Rurouni Kenshin”, and “Yusha Yoshihiko Series” have been filmed here.
Popular attractions include cosplay photographs, where visitors can travel back in time by wearing Japanese traditional clothing, and Ninja costumes. (Reservations required)
Buses are available for a tour around the backlot. Filming can be open to the public, but not all the time. Follow the instructions of the staff.
