Gozaisho ropeway connects Yunoyama Onsen Station at the foot of the 400-meter-high Mt. Gozaisho to the 1180-meter-high Sanjo Koen Station in 15 minutes. From the ropeway car, you can look down upon a panoramic view of Ise Bay. The restaurant at the mountain-top station serves meals. The well-maintained trail in the Sanjo park makes it easy to walk to the summit of Mt. Gozaisho(1,212 meters above sea level). The single chairlifts for skiing are also operating for sightseeing, serving those who want to reach the summit more easily.
Visitors can enjoy the seasonal nature; colorful flowers in spring, cooler summer temperatures and red dragonflies in summer, and dramatic foliage in fall. Winter offers skiing and sledding amid beautiful ice trees.
A peculiar stone called Jizo Iwa, located on Mt. Gozaisho, is well visited during the examination season because a square stone is placed between two rocks and "will never fall off.” Many other unique stones and rock formations on the mountain can be spotted including the 10-meter-high Daikoku Iwa, Takami Iwa and Ebisu Iwa.
Hiking along the walking trail, visitors can enjoy many spectacular views from various angles, such as the Choyodai deck with its open view of Ise Bay, the Fujimi-iwa Observation Deck which looks out towards Mt. Fuji, and the Bokodai Deck for a Lake Biwa view.
