Ryugado Cave
Amazing sound and lighting effects! Enjoy exploring the limestone caverns with your five senses.
Ryugado Cave is a national historic site and a national natural monument. It was renovated in 2019, and colorful lights and music have added another dimension of wonder.
There are many highlights in the caverns where visitors can feel nature's mystery, such as the 11-meter-high "Kinen-no-Taki (Memorial Waterfall)" and the "Sekkaden," where bunches of small stalactites resemble flowers. The "Kami-no-Tsubo (God's Pot)," a pot used by the cave's indigenous people that was covered by stalactites and became one piece over a period of about 2,000 years, is an important archaeological material.
For those thrill seekers, the “Adventure Course” is recommended. (with an additional fee, and reservations are required by the day before). This course takes you 200 meters along dark and narrow paths with your headlamp. Special clothing and equipment will be provided for the participants.
There are many stores and restaurants around the entrance, stroll around and enjoy the unique atmosphere.
