Yukaen

Quintessentially Japanese hot springs vibes set in cozy forest warmth.

Last update :

Yukaen is the luxury hot springs escape that sits in the very center of the Hanamaki Minami Onsenkyo area. Here you'll find rooms tucked inside a rich nature backdrop and sprawling views of the mountains from the guest rooms. The interior features lattice-pattern ceilings and iconic Japanese stylings designed by an authentic Miya carpenter.

There are 72 total guest rooms across the main hall, guest hall and new guest hall. The rooms range from 9-15 tatami-sized rooms and offer a wide range of stay options including 4 types like the Japanese-style western room with a separate bed room, VIP suite rooms with living and sunrooms, and more.

The onsite hot springs are sourced from a natural spring known for its plentiful waters, as well as an especially moisturing water quality that’s rare among neighboring Hanamaki hot springs destinations. From the 50-person large open-air bath you’ll find a view up at the starlit sky so close you could almost touch it. At the indoor baths you’ll find oversized windows and a view out to Toyosawa River and the surrounding great outdoors. Next among the four baths you’ll even find a new type that’s illuminated at night for an especially magical look and feel. For same-day visits, you can drop in between 10am and 9pm.

There are same day drop-in plans for the rooms, hot springs, or restaurant where you’ll find local Iwate ingredients and delights.
